Addison County Curling Club & the Memorial Sports Center

The club had great fun with about 10 Curling Matches or Clinics in the 2011/2012 season. However, the number of members have not been sufficient to make a 2012/2013 season happen. Some members plan to participate with the Rutland Rocks or Green Mt Curling Club. Should interest develop the Memorial Sports Center would be please to host curling activities.

The Addison County Curling Club and the Memorial Sports Center are pleased to offer the following opportunities for those interested in learning to curl. Please remember that space is limited for each session! If there is enough interest, additional sessions will be added

The Open House Clinic is a free 2 hour demonstration of the sport of curling. You will be on the ice in small groups learning the basics of the game. You'll discover why it is one of the fastest growing sports in the country.

The Learn to Curl Clinic will teach you the basics of curling, beginning off-ice where you will learn about: the ice, equipment, warm-up and safety, etiquette, techniques for the delivery and sweeping, basic rules and strategies of the game. After the off-ice instruction, you will practice the ABCs of the delivery, sweeping the rock and ultimately play an end or two! The cost of the Learn to Curl Clinic is $35. If you join our club $15 of this fee will be credited to your annual dues.

All clinics are held at Memorial Sports Center 296 Buttolph Drive, Middlebury, Vermont 05753. Please plan on being at the Memorial Sports Center at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the clinic. To ensure your comfort and safety on the ice, we suggest that you wear loose, comfortable clothing, and dress in layers. Please be sure to have a pair of clean, flat, rubber-soled shoes to wear on the ice.

Curling game play Is scheduled weekly for members of the Addison County Curling Club. All players must be members in good standing of the Addison County Curling Club or a Grand National Curling Club affiliate. Games are currently $15 per Game. The first 16 to register will be assigned to a team. Players that register and do not attend will be charged for the time.

*Requirement for game play is the completion of learn to curl Event or a GNCC Membership.
